Tone who?
When I was born on Norway's Constitutional Day in 1972, the midwife told my mother: “Congratulations, you’ve given birth to a healthy baby boy!”
From a very early age, I questioned myself, but no one else. The result was that I did the best I could to live as a boy and eventually a grown man. Until I turned 48. By then my thoughts had become so dark that I thought the world would be a better place without me. That became my turning point, and in mid-September 2021, the dude went to bed one evening, and for all practical purposes, out of time. The next day, Tone got up, and she has never looked back.
With humor, honesty and openness, I am passionate about normalizing being a human being who moves slightly outside the norm in society. I am often told that I am brave. It is a bit sad. It is also nice, but I wish everyone could be themselves without it requiring courage.
I give talks, and I want to be a clear voice for diversity, inclusion, and love, both professionally and personally.
In my book, “From dude to Diva”, I share a lot about both what it has been like to live with gender dysphoria and the entire life-changing transformation process I have been through. For better or worse. I plan to release an English version as an e-book later this year. If you do read Norwegian though, you are welcome to buy the book via the buttons below.
My favorite quote is: “Be kind. Always.”
In my everyday life I work as an engineering manager in Haugesund, Norway. I have more than 25 years of experience working as an engineer, project manager and leader in the maritime industry. By education I have a bachelor's degree in engineering. Please check my LinkedIn via the icon at the bottom of this page to see my professional CV. If you are reading or have read my book, you will see that there are several elements in my method that have strong ties to my experience and expertise. Now you can ask the question: "Is it a coincidence?"
